Lodge Hill Cemetery Re-opened For New Burials

From Monday 22nd November 2010, Birmingham City Council have re-opened Lodge Hill Cemetery for new graves after managing to find a suitable area within the cemetery. The ground has now been prepared ready for the use of full burial graves.



The cemetery was closed for new graves in 1998, when the council decided that there was no more space for providing new graves. Due to the closure, families have been using Quinton cemetery, including other cemeteries, for new plots and with the re-opening of Lodge Hill, some of the families will be upset with this decision.
